NBN Service Class, What Do They Mean?

Every address will have a Service Class number, this number can tell you two point of information. That is what type of NBN Technology that your address will be serviced and the progress of the installation of that technology at your premise.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Service Class 0:
The area is planned to be serviceable by fibre to the premises (FTTP) and installation is in process.
Service Class 1:
The site is serviceable however NTD (Network Termination Device) or External PCD (Premises Connection Device) is not installed. You can book an appointment to install.
Service Class 2:
The site is serviceable by FTTP. The PCD (Premises Connection Device) has been installed, but not NTD (Network Termination Device).  You can make appointment and a technician will install the equipment.
Service Class 3:
The site is now Serviceable by FTTP, both boxes are now installed. Service will take few days to activate if you already ordered it.

Fixed Wireless

Service Class 4:
The address is planned to be serviceable by fixed wireless. You have to wait until NBN announce this area to be ready for service.
Service Class 5:
The address is now available to service by NBN fixed wireless. There’s no antenna or the NTD box installed. However, you can book an appointment to install the equipment.
Service Class 6:
The address is available to service by NBN fixed wireless. Antenna and the NTD box are installed. Service will take few days to activate if you already ordered it.

Sky Muster

Service Class 7:
The address is planned to be serviceable by NBN Sky Muster Satellite.
Service Class 8:
The address is planned to be serviceable by NBN Sky Muster Satellite However Satellite Dish or NTD box is not installed.
Service Class 9:
The address is serviced by NBN Sky Muster Satellite. Satellite Dish and NTD box is installed.

Fibre to the Node or Building (FTTN/B)

Service Class 10:
The address is planned to be serviceable by Fibre to the node/Building (FTTN/FTTB) but not available yet for installation.
Service Class 11:
The address is NBN ready for service however additional work is required such as lead-in cables. You are now able to order your service.
Service Class 12:
The address is NBN ready for service however additional work is required such as Jumpering. Technician will perform the required work at the node, you don’t have to be on premises unless requested. You are able to order your service if not already.
Service Class 13:
The address is ready to be connected to NBN. Jumpering appointment is finished. Your service will be activated within few business days.

Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)

Service Class 20:
The address is planned to be serviceable by Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC). At this stage, you cannot order this service.
Service Class 21:
The address is serviceable by Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) but no lead-in cable, wall plate or NTD box is installed. A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 22:
The address is serviceable by Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC). A lead-in cable is installed but still no wall plate or NTD box is installed. A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 23:
The address is serviceable by Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC). A lead-in cable and wall plate are installed but no NTD box is installed. A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 24:
Your address is ready for HFC service. Connection can take few business days to activate if you already ordered.

Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)

Service Class 30:
The address is planned to be serviceable by Fibre to the Curb (FTTC). At this stage, you cannot order this service.
Service Class 31:
The address is serviceable by Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) but no lead-in cable is installed. A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 32:
The address is serviceable by Fibre to the Curb (FTTC). A lead-in cable is installed however there is no Distribution Point Unit (DPU) or Network Connection Device (NCD). A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 33:
The address is serviceable by Fibre to the Curb (FTTC). A lead-in cable is installed with Distribution Point Unit (DPU) but Network Connection Device (NCD) is still required. A technician will install it once the appointment is made.
Service Class 34:
Your address is ready for Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) service. Connection can take few business days to activate if you already ordered.
